Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving ranks as one of the best holidays of the year. It's about family, fun, relaxation, and good (really good) food. I happen to love it. This year we had our first Thanksgiving in Gville with the Chings. We spent the morning cooking while Anders ran around in a semi-controlled space. He is allowed to pull out all the tupperware and metal pans in the kitchen, which he did multiple times. We also had on the Macy's parade and enjoyed seeing Kermit sing, as well as many other exciting performers such as Yo Gabba Gabba. Our meal was served around 3:30, and Anders woke up from his nap just in time to enjoy a huge early dinner. He ate the cranberry jello, sweet potato souffle, stuffing, yeast rolls, squash casserole, and pumpkin pie! We all were pretty stuffed when it was over and ended up taking a nice stroll down the road as the sun was setting. The light was beautiful - a bright yellow on the trees - and it wasn't too cold at all. It was really a perfect day.

On Friday we drove up to TN to spend the weekend with the Stevens and the Tates. Anders managed to avoid napping on Friday (20 minutes in the car only). He was too excited to see all of his cousins. Unfortunately he got very sick, as you probably saw in the previous posting, and didn't get to play as planned. We ended up coming home Saturday night to get him into his own bed. Thank goodness for antibiotics. Even though he was sick, fun was had in Kingsport. We watched lots of football, played in the den, took part in some backyard baseball and took it easy. Carson, Brad and McKenzie were good entertainers, and of course Uncle Rob is an Anders favorite. Mom, Dad, Cheryl and Charles were all so helpful while Anders was sick and took great care of him.

This past week we have had a lot of fun putting up our Christmas tree and building a few fires as the weather has turned chillier. Yesterday was a fantastic day of football, capping off with the GA Tech/Clemson thriller. We are of course Clemson fans but Dad went to Ga Tech so I grew up pulling for them. It was a sad loss for the Tigers and Spiller, who played one of his best games ever, but Dad was on cloud nine for the Jackets.

The camera is still broken so we will post pictures very soon, as it is getting fixed this week. Happy December to all!
