Last Friday, the little princessa turned two. Yes, it's cliche, but I seriously can't believe it has been two years since she made her arrival five weeks early. She surprised us that day when she arrived, and she continues to surprise us all the time. Halle has indeed challenged us to live for each day more than any thing else in our lives. She has taught us about what really matters and what really doesn't matter.... as one wise friend of ours said, she is an educator. As another wise friend said, when today itself seems hard, focus on the future.... when the future seems hard, focus on today. That has really worked out well. The overriding theme of Halle's two years has truly been LOVE. She's the sweetest, most loveable little person, and we feel so lucky to have her in our lives. It was also especially special that Halle had a good day on her birthday. Last year she didn't have such a great birthday because her seizures were not controlled, and she was so sad. But this year, Halle felt wonderful on her special day, and she enjoyed being celebrated and was awake and happy.
Here's our family pic on Feb 3rd. We missed Nissa, Pops and Jaime!

Two sweet Grandmas with their little buddy

A super cool and delish cookie bouquet from Tio Rob and Tia Jaime

Halle's birthday had a Minnie theme since we are hoping to get to Disney sometime in 2012. Thus, we passed around some Minnie ears at the party. Here's Lucy sporting them!

Who knew that Halle would LOVE her some bday cake in a Big way? Now that she can get her hands to her mouth, she can show off how much she likes icing. Guess icing-loving really is genetic. We put a little icing on her hands and she went to town!

Mmmm, life is good

More, please!

Why don't I have this every day?

Here's Halle with some of her friends. I love that she has buddies! Maris, Anders, Lucy and Lena. Wes was around but not in the pic.

Meanwhile, we had train central in the living room.

Uncle Rob and Sweet Halle

Halle's bday cake was shaped like a giant cupcake...

Unfortunately, a leaning cupcake.... it fell on the way home.

It was such a special day, and we are all so thankful that Halle is here with us and just look forward to so many celebrations to come.
