Weekend with the Little Guy

We had a wonderful weekend here in SC. A big thanks to Mama C and Papi for coming down from TN and helping out while E is in Africa. I cannot thank them enough for all their assistance, and all the fun we had. They arrived midday on Friday and had lots of playtime with A. I headed to work for a few hours and then came home to a warm and cozy fire in the living room and some chili in the crock pot. Rob stopped by and we all had a pretty chilled out evening. On Saturday we took a nice walk around the neighborhood. Anders was in a happy happy mood, giggling and just enjoying himself. Strolling is one of his new favorite things after being a little unsure about it early on. He tried peas for the first time (maybe not his favorite food) and jumped like crazy in his Jumperoo. On Saturday night, we helped Anna celebrate her 31st birthday over pizza and cake at Beth and David's casa. It was pretty wild with 8 kids in the house! So much fun to see all the little ones playing and taking over the living room. On Sunday, we went to Furman for a walk/run with Brook and the weather was just beautiful. We also watched the Australian Open and the Super Bowl, so it was quite a sports day. It was disappointing that both Federer AND the Cardinals lost at the very end. One big Sunday treat was Anna's delivery (via Jeremy) of a big bowl of icing. I enjoyed it by the spoonful but mom wanted it on something and we didn't really have a vanilla wafer or anything so she opted for a whole wheat teething biscuit, and apparently it was pretty tasty.

One of the things I love about being a parent is the fact that my parents and E's parents are grandparents, and it is enjoyable to see them in a new role. I also love seeing Rob as an uncle and Nissa as an aunt.
